L’Opera dei pupi è una forma di teatro popolare di marionette armate nata nella prima metà del XIX secolo. I pupari mettono in scena storie cavalleresche tratte dai poemi rinascimentali italiani. I pupari di Siracusa portano avanti questa tradizione dal 1923 e la loro esperienza sul campo non ha eguali in tutto il territorio siracusano.
Durante questa esperienza farete un immersione nel mondo dei pupi, dalla loro nascita storica alla loro costruzione passando per la coinvolgente esperienza dello spettacolo. Come sono nati i pupi? Questa domanda troverà risposta grazie agli esperti che ti accompagneranno all’interno del museo dei pupi per poi condurti in laboratorio per vivere il mestiere del puparo e costruire con le tue mani un piccolo pupo siciliano. Non può mancare in questa esperienza la bellezza dello spettacolo per poi scoprirne i segreti con una visita dietro le quinte del teatro e “dulcis in fundo” il viaggio terminerà con la degustazioni di prelibatezze sicule nel grazioso cortile del teatro. Perché bisogna assaggiare la Sicilia per lasciarla nel cuore per sempre.

Puppet theatre comes out from the popular theatre of warrior puppets which was born at the beginning of 19 century. The puppeteers give life to the chivalrous histories taken out from the Renaissance Italian poems. The Syracuse ‘s puppeteers carry this tradition on since 1923 and their experience is the only one in Syracuse.
